Coronavirus and "stay-at-home" services

March 11, 2020

With COVID-19 all over the news, we wanted to weigh in on this important topic and provide some tips on how to protect yourself while still doing everything you need to do.

Here’s a list of some common tips to protect yourself and others:

1. Take care of yourself:

  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Cover your nose and mouth if you have to sneeze or cough.
  • Use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.
  • Avoid people who are sick, and of course, stay home if you are sick.

2. Stay informed:

The CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO) are continually updating their sites with the latest information about travel warnings, new outbreaks, and disease developments.

3. Find safer alternatives:

We live very connected lives and almost any product or service can be had either by delivery or virtually.

Here’s a list of some great health and wellness services that we recommend (many of which we have used personally), including our own, to help you stay safe in the comfort of your own home or office:

HealthCasa

HealthCasa provides Chiropody/Podiatry services and orthotics appointments at your home, as well as health and wellness services at your office. The service allows you to eliminate time in waiting rooms (and in traffic), and reduce your risk of infection.

Maple , Dialogue

These services offer virtual healthcare appointments by connecting you with a Medical Doctor or other healthcare professional online via your phone, tablet, or computer.

Make better use of your time, but more importantly avoid crowded waiting rooms and other sick people.

Inkblot

Inkblot offers virtual therapy appointments by connecting you with therapists via your phone, tablet, or computer, helping you avoid waiting rooms.

Massago , Therapia

Registered Massage Therapy and Physiotherapy appointments in the comfort of your own home, means you can avoid clinic waiting rooms and potential infection.

Calm App

Calm is the #1 app for Sleep, Meditation and Relaxation and provides easy-to-follow guided (and unguided) mindfulness meditation.  Avoid large group classes and keep your mind relaxed, focused and healthy, so that you can keep your body healthy too.

Peloton

Home fitness apps and in-home gym equipment have reported seeing a surge in users since the outbreak began spreading beyond China. The Peloton app gives you access to thousands of industry-leading cycling, running, strength, toning, yoga and meditation. classes led by top tier instructors….in the comfort of your own home.
